Heart's Hole

There's a hole in our hearts, Lord.
Rosie's gone.
She took her smile and her busyness.
She came for three years.
Flew away
And now lives in others.
But in her hurry
She gave
Us time to say good-bye.
As flowers brighten our lives,
Brightened ours.
Roses will always bloom
Helping us
Remember her.
Now our heart's hole
Fills with Love and memories.
Thank you Lord for Rosie.
She will be missed.

Abed awaiting morning coffee

Day's first footstep

Sends fire to my ankle

Set aflame by surgery.

Counting to fifty before

Standing helps

As does a white pill.

Wound redressed

Abed again

I await morning's respite

Coffee and newspaper.

Who knew I'd be helpless?

Who knew I'd feel fire's pain?

Who knew I'd take months to recover?

Not Me
