A Writer's Life

Homer Withers Tribute

As a tribute to Homer Withers a former local poet, I along with others, was asked to read some of my poetry in tribute to him and his works. One of the first Ohio Writer’s Guild members, he was a talented poet and a quiet inspiration to many. I was privileged to read “Yesterday’s Fingers” and “In Winter” at this memorial. They and other poems are on my poetry page.

It was interesting to write a story for children on the topic of constellations. My book Seeing Stars was written with information from an amateur astronomer and hours of research on the internet. The illustrations are by a former Columbus Dispatch artist with whom I collaborated for my book Canneh, the Reluctant Christmas Camel. All three of my books with Sprite Press are in the Ohioana Library.
